It was coming close to Christmas, and the mall was full of people doing some last minute shopping. Star was sitting on a banister that ran along the edge of the second floor. She was sipping her smoothie and watching the people below her scrabble around trying to find things. She was wear her usual outfit, her hair pulled back, a hot pink tee-shirt, black and purple converse, and black board shorts. She also had her wings out to help her keep her balance, they sparkled in the light. Her wings were dark purple with swirls of hot pink in them.
Star started swinging her legs as she cocked her head to the side. There was a couple arguing right below her. All she heard was something about him needing to be home on Christmas day, but he has a "business conference" in London. "Ya right" Star said out loud to herself. She rolled her eyes, and for some reason when she did she lost her balance for a second. And when she steaded herself she realized she had droped her smoothie, so when she looked down she saw a spray of pink all over the couple that had been fighting. As she shrugged it off, she dove away from the banister when she realized the woman was pointing up toward her. Star quickly snuck away and ran to the nearest store.

"Ohmygosh, what's wrong with all their clothes?!" Lexi wondered out loud, negatively fingering the hem of a dress that hung from an anorexic manikin. Her blonde hair had been curled that morning and thrown up into a messy bun to go shopping in. Wearing a typical striped spaghetti strap and blue jean capris, she was dressed comfortably for a leisurely time at the mall.
From the corner of her baby blue eyes the girl could have sworn she'd seen movement. Yes, most definitely. Someone had darted into the store across from hers, and there were loud angry noises coming from downstairs. Lexi slung the shirt she'd been considering to buy over a clothes rack and drifted towards the large opening that looked down onto the first floor.
A couple angrily yelled at one another and a newly arriving security officer. After a moment of bickering all three heads looked up, straight at Lexi. Oh crap, that doesn't look good. A sheepish smile spread across her face, and she stepped back, away from the banister and the accusing eyes. What the hell do they think I did? She wondered as she scurried towards the store she'd seen the girl go in a bit earlier. The squeaking of wet shoes could be heard coming up the stairs and Lexi's heart began to race.
"Where'd she go?" Valentine murmured, eyes scouring the store. As the footsteps got closer she panicked, power walking to the back of what just happened to be the Disney store, pushing kids aside avoiding the angry glares of parents. Upon reaching the far wall Lexi ducked behind a merchandise rack where she would be hidden from the view of any passerby.
